The Word

Well you know the year is almost over when the Melbourne Cup comes around. Great wins by the Hawks in the AFL and Manly in the NRL has seen the last of football “unless you’re a soccer fan” until next year. Cricket is ramping up, as is the run through to Christmas and a well deserved break for all. This year has been significant starting with a change of government, and finishing with economic uncertainty and talk of global financial meltdown “WOW”.

What does it all mean and what can we do? Well if I new the answer to that million dollar question I’d be as rich as Bill Gates and like him retiring. All I know and the principal that I have always operated under is ‘Worry about the things that I can change or influence’ and unfortunately I can’t do much about global economies, or even the Australian one for that matter, the value of our dollar and many other things.

So that’s why we have given you some helpful hints to help you save a few dollars where ever you can in the lead up to the holidays. You can be assured that we will be doing the same things ourselves and will continue to pass along anything that we think will be beneficial.

From a Pro Plasters perspective we encourage all our customers to take advantage of our quantity breaks when purchasing any compounds or materials, look out for the in store spotlight specials, Pro Deal catalogue with our quarterly tool deals and internet specials.

Now’s the time to maximise your efficiency, so maybe it’s time to invest in a automatic taper, set of boxes or even our new sanders. Time is money so anything you do that’s going to save you time will always be of benefit. Take advantage of Flexirent and spread the cost of the purchases over an extended period of time.

Remember everything helps in the long run, and you can be assured that we will be doing everything we can to help our valued customers as much as we can, and as often as we can.

Drought Cracking Warning

Drought Cracking Warning

Cracking is a serious fault in 38% of the 75,000 houses inspected in the last 5 years by Archicentre, the building advisory service of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects. Archicentre warns of up to 30% increases in cracking as the ground hardens through drought.

Traditional style brick and plaster homes are especially susceptible to cracking. Owners of lightweight, energy-efficient homes however will to face less cracking problems, because there is more flex in their buildings.

As the summer season approaches its something we all need to watch out for when on site.
